Eloping in Scotland isn't a lesser wedding — it's the concentrated version. Fully legal, completely yours, and held wherever your favourite corner of this country happens to be.
Anywhere means anywhere
That photo is a real Tuesday of mine: a white-sand Hebridean beach, two brides, their dog with a bow on, candles fighting the breeze and an arch we anchored against the wind. Because humanist weddings are legal anywhere in Scotland, your elopement can happen on a munro summit, a Loch Lomond shore at dawn, a clifftop, a bothy, a rooftop — no licence required for the place, just the two of you, two witnesses over 16, and the words. If you need witnesses, we can usually charm a pair out of the nearest hotel, photographer or passing hillwalker — it has happened, and it makes the best story at dinner forever.
Small ceremony, full ceremony
An elopement with me isn't three minutes of formalities in walking boots — unless that's the brief. You get the same ceremony my hundred-guest couples get: your story written from scratch, vows we craft together, a handfasting or quaich if you fancy, and every legal word handled — M10 notice forms, Marriage Schedule, the lot.
