The Cruin · Loch Lomond

The loch as your witness at The Cruin.

The Cruin sits right on Loch Lomond's shore — and I mean right on it: the ceremony terrace ends where the water begins, with the hills across the loch lining up behind your arch like they were booked for the day. I've led ceremonies here, it's an easy run up the road from Glasgow, and it's one of my favourite offices in the world.

An outdoor wedding ceremony set up on The Cruin's lochside terrace — floral arch and signing table with Loch Lomond and the hills behind

A ceremony with the water at your back

Outdoors on the terrace, your vows come with lapping water and hill air; indoors, the loch fills the windows and no one's more than a glance from the view. Either way, I write your ceremony to work with the setting rather than compete with it — short walks, big moments, and pauses placed exactly where your guests will want to breathe it in. A lochside handfasting here, tartan over your hands and Loch Lomond behind them, is about as Scottish as a wedding gets.

A truly local celebrant

Loch Lomond is barely half an hour from my door — which means easy planning meetings, no travel worries on the morning, and a celebrant who knows the loch's moods well enough to have a weather plan and a better-weather plan. As a Humanist Society Scotland celebrant, everything we do on that terrace is fully legally binding — the loch makes a grand witness, but your two pals signing the schedule make it official.
